Hi there, everyone! I’m an interior designer with about three years of experience working mostly inside apartments, houses, restaurants, and other venues. I love my job and have gotten great feedback from my clients — but my ultimate dream is to design and construct my own line of yachts. I haven’t had the chance to work on designing an actual yacht yet, but I have “designed” yachts by sketching and creating mood boards.

I am pretty successful in my current niche, but I feel like money isn’t everything. I want to make this leap of faith, but I don’t want to regret my decision. If I’m successful with designing yachts, then the money will far surpass what I’m making now. It will probably take a while, though. I’m wondering if anyone has any advice regarding making career changes. When is the best time? Is there ever a “perfect” time? Thanks so much.
